Handprints on the Wall

One-stop guide to everything homemaking and more

Need to do some quick hulling? Well, it’s not quite strawberry season, but when it gets here, you’ll want this tip - trust me!

Here you go:

  • Get out your can opener
  • Shove the pointy end into the strawberry
  • Flick your wrist
  • Off pops the strawberry top

And there you have it! That’ll speed you through hulling strawberries like nobody’s business. For more kitchen tips, check out Tammy’s Recipes !

    What a cool tip!! Thanks!
I’ve been using my pairing knife from Pampered Chef but I think this will be more fun and my 10 y/o can help! sure hope they go on sale here soon. The farmer’s market has the best prices so far.

  4. The Happy Housewife Said,

That is a great tip. We will be growing strawberries in our garden this year, hopefully I will have a huge crop and I will need this tip!

A flick of the wrist, huh? I’ll have to try it out.

  6. Keren Said,

Cool! Our strawberry plants already have a few little berries, but I don’t think I have that kind of can opener! Maybe I can get one as a freebie sometime.

  9. Michelle@Life with Three Said,

This is a great idea — my husband hates when I hull strawberries by cutting the tops off. He says I waste half the berry. I’m going to give this a try!

  10. Kelly Said,

Oh, great idea!!! Thanks for sharing.

  11. Britni Said,

I am going to have to try this. Thanks!!

  12. Aunt LoLo Said,

Sweet! My hubs LOVES strawberries…and I always end up slicing the top clean off, trying to get rid of the hull. Thanks!
