I’m working on clearing out my bookshelves, too. I added a bunch of books to PaperBackSwap, and whatever I still have at the end of the month, I’ll take to Half Price Books to see if I can get some money for them.

If that doesn’t work, then off to the library they go!

I actually only had to add a few books to my shelves and wipe the bookshelf down! Perhaps I got lucky? Thanks for this though… now I have a few less stray books laying around!

Yes, this is a great way to get new books. I’m hoping, however, to encourage you guys to Minimize your book collection, and not merely clear out what you don’t want in order to make room for more. Less is more! However, this would be a great site to exchange your old books for others that you could give as gifts! That would be a great way to recycle your unused books, and keep the clutter in your own home under control.

You forgot something, a wonderful way to get rid of books is to use http://www.paperbackswap.com It is a book swap website (and yes they take hard bound books as well) where you list your books for others to take and you get credit for mailing it to them so you can order books from someone else. And if you list 10 books you get 2 free credits to order books right away. Its a wonderful service that I have been using for a few months now. You should check it out!
