Stored In Menu Plans
July 24th, 2008 | By Kendra
Once again, here is my menu, this time from the July box of Angel Food. I have found that it’s hard to keep strictly to these menu plans, as sometimes items on the menu are substituted for something else. Like my pizza from the last box actually came in the form of generic Totino’s Pizza Rolls. And the mixed frozen veggies were actually just corn. This kinda messes up my plans sometimes, so just remember these are more menu ideas than plans! Most of these are just main courses, and this month’s box has a lot of already prepared meal items, so not too many creative recipes here.
1. Pasta and Meatballs
2. Crock Pot Dinner
3. Hot dogs; Peas and Carrots
4. Beef Fajitas
5. Meatloaf and Gravy, Steamed Broccoli
6. Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Sage Cornbread Crust
7. Chicken and Biscuit Kabobs
8. Mexican Scrambled Eggs
9. Crock Pot BBQ Beef Ribs
10. Chicken Chunks and Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce
Hopefully most of these items will come as described. I’ve been really pleased so far with the food I’ve been getting. I have to say the breaded chicken breasts have a pickle-ish taste to them though. Has anyone else noticed that?? Anyways, still yummy though. Hope this gives you some meal ideas for next month!

Stored In Menu Plans

Here is my menu using the stuff from June’s box of Angel Food Ministry goodies. I tried my best to stretch these items for two weeks worth of dinners, but I just couldn’t make it work. So, you get 10 great meal ideas. Oh well, ten dinners for $30 is still a great deal in my book!
These recipes are assuming that you already have some basic staple ingredients. I’m trying to list recipes that don’t need a lot of outside main ingredients. If I don’t have an ingredient on hand, I try to substitute something else for it, or I just leave it out all together. This menu is mostly just for main courses. You can add whatever sides you have available from your own pantry. Depending on the size of your family, you may have enough left over for lunch the next day, or even another dinner!
1. Pan-Seared Ribeye Steaks, Steamed Carrots with Lemon-Dill Butter
2. Golden Honey Chicken, Pork and Beans
3. Sizzle Burger Hamburgers, Oven Baked French Fries
4. Honey Barbecue Riblets
5. Vegetable Stew (based on this recipe’s filling) with Bisquick Dumplings
6. Supreme Pizza
7. Italian Sausage Casserole (*make sure to save about 1/4 of the sausage for another recipe)
8. Cheddar and Chile Egg Casserole
9. Mac & Cheese Dinner (just mix in leftover cooked sausage and veggies)
10. One Dish Chicken Parmesan
I haven’t tried any of these recipes yet (except for my carrots), so I’m experimenting. Let me know what you think! Since I’ve just started ordering these boxes, I’ve decided to try to plan menu’s based on them each month. Eventually I’d like to add Aldi meals in as well. If you have any suggestions or requests please feel free to send them my way!

Stored In Food, Menu Plans
February 19th, 2008 | By Kendra
I have come to realize that even though I make a detailed menu for the week, life is full of the unexpected, and it is impossible to plan perfectly. Sometimes we are invited out to lunch or dinner, or eat at mom and dad’s, (or I realize I don’t have a loaf pan to make the carrot bread I planned on)! So, I have a few meals that were unused from my week 1 and week 2 menus for this month. For this week, I’ll just be adding some of my leftover plans to the menu (you’ll see I have quite a few), plus some new ones.
Breakfast:
Oatmeal
Cereal & Oranges
Carrot Bread (I borrowed a pan!)
Waffles
Blueberry Yogurt Muffins
Mexican Scrambled Eggs & Toast
Cinnamon Rolls
Smoothie
Lunch:
Potato Soup, and crackers
Mozza-Chicken Strips, Steamed Veggies
Chicken Salad Sandwiches, Carrot Sticks
PB and Banana, Fruit Chips
Soup and Buttered Bread, Fruit Cocktail
Club Quesadillas, Mixed Fresh Fruit
Leftovers
Dinner:
Kids Love Tuna Mac
Paprika Chicken w/ Sour Cream Gravy
Soppy Joes
Meat Loaf and Mashed Red Skin Potatoes
Catalina Chicken Breast, Mixed Veggies
Cheesy Chicken and Rice
Drinks:
Water
Milk
Chocolate Milk (Homemade Choc. Syrup)
OJ
Apple Juice
Tea
Snacks:
Apples
Bananas
Crackers
Veggie Sticks
Cheese and Crackers
Popcorn
Yogurt
Applesauce
This should do. Looks good to me!
